Perry’s Cash Waren – Presented by Stillwater Medical Clinic of Perry

Athletes have to be dedicated to putting in work in order to be successful in their sports. Along with all that work, it also takes a great support system to be there to encourage you and cheer you on. Cash Waren has a solid group of people that he says have helped him become the person and athlete that he is today.

“I would say my biggest influences are my parents,” he said. “They support me in whatever I do. Also, coach Rupp has had the biggest influence on me by not giving up on me and pushing me to be the best me.”

Cash is in his senior year at Perry High School, where he is a multi-sport athlete. He plays defensive end for the football team and wrestles at 190 for the wrestling team.

He is a hard worker on and off the field, and Waren has seen his efforts pay off in both sports.
“To be successful and respected in what I do It’s taken a lot of hard work and dedication,” he said. “I set the school record in tackles for loss in a season with 35.5 and I made the state finals in wrestling last year and am currently wrestling to get there again.”

The teammates that he competes alongside are groups that Cash is proud to be a part of. They do a great job of working together and helping each other improve. Waren has a couple of teammates that he enjoys working with the most in practice.

“I like going up against Whelan Carson on the football field because he’s always gonna make it challenging no matter what,” he said. “Also, Zane Ruth because he gives his best effort in everything he does. I think Zane is one of the more underrated players on our team because no one sees what he does in his own time to make weight and improve.”

No matter what sport he is competing in, Cash says that being able to represent his school and community is something that he is proud to be able to do.

“It means a lot to me to wear Perry across my chest because of the history the school has,” he stated. “We play a lot of different opponents, but I think the team I enjoy beating the most would be Blackwell. I just feels good to get the win against them.”
