Yale’s Avery Morphew – Presented by Stillwater Milling Co

A proud member of the Yale High School cheer squad, Avery Morphew is now a sophomore and a member of the FFA chapter at school.

It was middle school when Morphew first got involved in FFA.

“I was in seventh grade when I first got involved. My older sister, she was an officer at the time and told me I would love it,” said Morphew.

Entering the 2024 school year, Morphew said she is looking forward to getting another year started on the field and in FFA.

“I enjoy the new people I get to meet, and the new friends I make. I am currently my FFA chapters secretary, and this year I will start saying speeches too. I am going to be showing a steer this year,” said Morphew.

Also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Morphew said she loves meeting new people, being on the sideline for games, and spending time with her family and friends.

“I love cheering on my football team and getting to cheer with my friends. The things that I love about my teammates are how we all get along and how I get to cheer with some of my favorite people,” said Morphew.

Morphew said she’s inspired by her coaches and teachers.

“Some people who inspire me as a cheerleader are my cheer coach Mr. Jessica and my Ag teacher Mr. Fuss. I don’t know what I would do without them helping me be a better person and their continued support. Away from school my parents inspire me, they are my reasons for everything. I’m so thankful for everything they do for me.”

Plans for her future include attending cosmetology school at Central Tech. She offers this advice to anyone interested in FFA?

“I would tell them to try it. FFA is amazing, and it will teach you so many new and great things!”
