Stillwater’s Seth Dunivan – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by The Hideaway

There are people in everyone’s life that have an impact on them and help shape them into the person that they become. This could be a celebrity or professional athlete or it could be someone that they are close to that is part of their everyday life. Seth Dunivan has some people that have always been there for him and helped him get to where he is today.

“My biggest role models in life are my parents and my two older siblings, Cara and TJ,” Seth said. “They have always encouraged me to try my best at whatever I do in life and are always willing to put others ahead of themselves. They have helped me with sports from the time I was eight years old, whether it was taking me up to the gym for early mornings or late nights or bringing me to baseball tournaments hours away.”

Seth is a sophomore at Morrison High School. He plays basketball and baseball for the Wildcats. Outside of sports, he is also a part of the Academic Team, Future Farmers of America, Student Council, and the science fair. He is also involved with his church’s youth group.

Becoming a good athlete takes a lot of work and dedication and this is something that Dunivan is very familiar with.

“It has taken many hours in the gym and on the field, staying focused when the season comes around, and countless people pushing me to always be my best,” he stated. “I am motivated by wanting to be the best version of myself daily and always giving 100% effort no matter what.”

Throughout his athletic career, Seth has experienced a lot of great memories with his teammates, both on and off the field and court. But he has a few that stand out as his favorite.

“I would say that my highlight was when we beat highly ranked Alva my freshman year,” he recalled. “Our coaches and school principal came and celebrated in the locker room with us. Another memory is anytime we beat Pawnee. I always enjoy beating them, they have been Morrison’s rival for a number of years and every time we play them we know it’s going to be a challenging game.”
