2024-2025 Perry Lady Maroons Wrestling – Presented by Stillwater Medical Clinic of Perry

Perry High School wrestling is synonymous with championships and outstanding wrestling. Bryan
Wilson is the head coach of the school’s girls wrestling team and, while he has a young team this season, he thinks the future is bright for the program.

“We are a young team with experience,” he said. “We have one senior, Taylyne Simpson, who had her season cut short last year with a torn ACL. The rest of the team members are sophomores and freshman.
Most of these girls have wrestled through youth, with Perry Wrestling Academy and Perry Junior High.”

Sophomores Angelia ‘AJ’ Waren, Sayben Owen, and Alexi Valencia are state qualifiers and all three made it to the consolation semifinals. Cami Wilson comes in as a freshman, who was a junior high state runner up and looks to continue that production this season with the varsity squad. Avery Tetik, also a freshman,
placed third at junior high state.

No matter how this season turns out, coach Wilson knows that his team will grow and improve and this season will make them better.

“We have a pretty tough schedule, wrestling Class 6A powerhouses like Edmond North, Bixby, Yukon, and
Ponca City,” he said. “We are also hoping to add a dual with Little Axe during a district dual festival we hope to do alongside the boys when they wrestle their district duals. We do this to prepare us for 5A
regionals and 5A state.”

The rest of the team is made up of sophomores Riley Skaggs, Peyton Reaves, and Adyson Nida, and freshmen Grace Lickliter, Constance O’dell, Natalie Miller, and Sophie Reese.”
