Perkins-Tryon’s Logan Gajewski – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Perkins Primary Care

Logan Gajewski isn’t easing into high school athletics, she’s already making her presence known.

As a freshman at Perkins-Tryon High School, Gajewski has stepped into varsity roles in both softball and basketball, a rare accomplishment that speaks to her talent and determination. On the softball field, she commands the game as a pitcher while also contributing at first base and at the plate. When winter rolls around, she shifts to the hardwood, where she anchors the team as a post player.

“My accomplishment I am most proud of is starting varsity on both my softball and basketball teams as a freshman,” Gajewski said.

Earning those spots didn’t come without challenges. Competing against older, more experienced athletes forced her to grow up quickly, both mentally and physically.

“Earning a starting spot pushed me to work harder, stay disciplined, and believe in myself,” she said.

That mindset has become the foundation of who she is, not just as an athlete, but as a person. Through sports, Gajewski has developed a strong sense of responsibility and resilience, learning how to push through adversity and stay focused on her goals.

“My sport has taught me responsibility, discipline, and the importance of showing up prepared every day,” she said.

Behind her drive is a strong support system, led by her father, who continues to inspire her through his own coaching journey.

“He leads by example through his hard work, dedication, and positive attitude,” Gajewski said.

She also credits her best friend and teammate, Landry, for making the journey even more meaningful, building a bond that goes far beyond the game.

Off the field, Gajewski carries lessons from influential figures like her eighth-grade teacher, Mrs. Niles, who helped build her confidence and encouraged her to believe in herself.

As she continues to represent Perkins-Tryon, she does so with pride, motivated not only by her teammates and community but also by family, including her late grandfather, whose words still drive her forward.

“The work you do in the dark will always show in the light,” Gajewski said.

For Logan Gajewski, the future is bright, and she’s just getting started.
