PERKINS-TRYON DEMONS

BOYS

Coach: Dylan Parker

23-24 Record: 28-3

The Demons advanced to the Class 4A State Tournament last season but made an early first round exit. This season’s squad will be replacing a lot of those players but they are not lowering their expectations. Head coach Dylan Parker likes the makeup of his team this season and thinks it could be a really good season. “We graduated a lot of players off of last year’s team,” Parker said. “But we have a bunch of guys who are eager to play. Not a lot of returning production but guys who have been waiting their turn to get a shot at varsity basketball. We have the pieces to be a really good basketball team but it will be a process figuring out our roles. If we continue to improve as the season progresses I think we have a chance to be a really good team come playoff time.” One of the guys looking to step up and have a big season is Jace Myers (6-0, Jr.). He is one of the returners who saw a decent amount of varsity action last season. He looks to have a big season. Tyce Slusser (5-10, So.) is expected to make a big jump this season. He is skilled with the ball in his hands and has the ability to score at all three levels. A guy that is always ready to work and help his team is Jace Wensler (6-0, Sr.). He works every day in practice to make himself and his teammates better. He gives great effort every time he steps on the floor and attitude is always where it needs to be. Other guys looking to contribute this season are Brodey Bursiaga (6-6, Jr.), Carson Brown (6-0, Jr.), Wyatt Atkinson (6-0, Jr.), Zane Payton (6-4, Jr.), Niko Sotelo (5-9, Sr.), Cale Collum (6-0, Jr.), Shiloh Guster (6-0, Jr.), Raiden McLemore (5-10, Jr.), DeAngelo Johnson (6-5, Fr.), and Nate Rains (5-10, Jr.).
