2024 Morrison Wildcats Football Preview – Presented by Ortho Oklahoma

MORRISON WILDCATS

Coach: CORY BALES

5-6

OFFENSE

The Wildcats enter the 2024 season ready to build off last season and ready to make some noise in the postseason. Head coach Cory Bales is ready to get the season underway and see what his team can do. “The 2024 season will include multiple starters that will play both sides of the football,” he said. “We are very excited about this group of players, and we are looking forward to returning to a high level of success.” Brody Bailey (5-9, 185, Sr.), who rushed for 550 yards and seven touchdowns, will continue to be a force out of the backfield. Also, in the backfield will be fullback Brady Petree (6-0, 190, Jr.). The duo of Brendon Swaboda (5-8, 155, Jr.) and Caiden Scheronick (6-1, 180, Jr.) will be at wide receiver and serve as targets for Schubert to get the ball to. Hudson Galloway (5-10, 190, Jr.) will anchor things on the offensive line and work to keep the defense in check. The Wildcats will need to find a replacement for quarterback Mason Schubert who left for Stillwater.

DEFENSE

The Morrison defense will look to be physical and stop the running game of their opponent. Leading that charge will be linebackers James Kirkwood (6-0, 195, Jr.) and Bailey. After a strong season a year ago that saw Bailey accumulate 90 tackles and Kirkwood get 67, they both will work hard this season to continue to dominate. Defensive end Toby Dunham (6-2, 220, Jr.) had 58 tackles last season and will be joined by lineman Kai Galloway, and they will look to wreak havoc on the opponents. In the secondary, Tae Warriner (5-10, 170, Jr.) and Austin Watters (5-8, 160, Jr.) will patrol and keep the opponents’ big plays to a minimum. Assistant coaches this season will be Hayden Garringer, Ty Burns, and Shawn Walls.
