Ponca City’s Randi Franklin: Mom of the Month – Presented by Ponca City Real Estate Co

What does it look like to be Mom of the Month? It looks like Randi Franklin! Randi is a mom of two kids who are both participating in sports. The time and effort that goes into being a “sports mom” is no small amount. This mom goes above and beyond for her kiddos on and off of the field. There is no doubt that she’s giving her all to be there for them.

Randi has been able to maintain a balance between work, home, and her kids sports activities that most moms dream to achieve. After playing sports in high school and having been a student athlete, Randi puts in the work to be an involved parent by being able to attend her children’s events and encouraging them. She tries to make sure to be there for them because she knows that they won’t be young forever and wants to send them into adulthood with the amazing memories that her and her kids are making together.

One of Randi’s favorite memories is watching her daughter hit the game winning run for her team in junior high, resulting in winning the tournament. The toughest part about being a sports mom for Randi is having to watch her kids struggle. To her, the greatest achievement is just being able to be there for them. What keeps her going through the ups and downs is knowing that someday, their sports will be over, so she tries to enjoy the good and the bad.

Randi definitely steps up to help out, but she also says that her kids teams have a great group of parents who also help out during the games, tournaments, and banquets. Having a group working towards the same goal can accomplish any task. They are showing the next generation how it’s done.
