Amy Arbona is the mother of five and she is proud of each one of her kids. As a parent, she knows that it is important to help her kids become good people and be the best that they can.
“Teaching them to set and understand priorities helps them develop responsibility, time management skills, and a strong work ethic,” she said. “It also helps them make better decisions by distinguishing between what is important and what is not. Without clear priorities, children may struggle with distractions, procrastination, and difficulty achieving their goals. Setting priorities early in life prepares them for adulthood, where they will need to balance work, relationships, and personal growth effectively.”
Amy and her husband Tony’s children range from adulthood to middle school, with each working to find their path in life.
“Taylor is the oldest and she is almost 21 years old,” she said. “She and her girlfriend Kimber are living their best life on their own and working and going to school full time. Lance is next, he’s in eleventh grade. He plays football, baseball, and wrestles. He has lettered in all three sports and also been on the fishing team all three years of high school. Marli is a sophomore and recently gave up softball and track to pursue wrestling full time. She lettered in softball before giving it up. She placed first at regionals this year, lettered two years, and has qualified for state two years. Evelyn is a freshman matmaid for the girls wrestling team. She has recently decided to quit softball and possibly pursue the sports medicine/trainer side of things. Swayzie is the youngest and will start middle school next year. She plays softball and wants to get into swimming soon and we’re all excited for her to be able to get in the room with Marli and see about wrestling.”
Arbona has been a barber in Ponca City for almost twenty years. She recently opened her own shop.
“I am now the proud owner of AfterShave Barbering Co.,” she said. “We have four skilled barbers working fulltime, providing quality men’s grooming barber services.”
