OUTLOOK

The Stroud Tigers are entering the 2025-26 season with renewed energy and confidence under head coach Rodney Bencoma, who is counting on a core of experienced returners to lead the charge. After showing flashes of promise last year, the Tigers are focused on taking the next step forward.

“We have four guys returning that played a lot of minutes for us last year,” said Bencoma. “We are looking for those four guys to step up and lead this year. We also have many underclassmen that are anxious to get their opportunity to help contribute.”

That returning group includes senior leaders Jackson Campbell (5-10, G), Jacob Beck (6-0, G), Trystan Baker (6-0, F), and Jeremiah Cropp (6-2, F). Their experience and leadership will be key for a team eager to improve on last season’s record.

Baker embodies the values Bencoma wants in his program. “Trystan is a great leader,” said Bencoma. “He works hard in sports and in the classroom. He is also a very respectful young man.” Baker’s steady presence on and off the court helps set the tone for the Tigers’ effort and attitude.

Joining the senior core is a strong junior class that will be vital to the team’s success. Aiden Collins (5-10, G), Jett Cooper (5-10, G), Sam McCammon (5-8, G), Landry Davis (5-11, G), and Aiden Young (5-11, G) all bring depth, athleticism, and versatility to the rotation. Their development will play a major role in determining how far this team can go.

With a balanced mix of seniors and underclassmen, Bencoma sees an opportunity for growth and unity.

The Tigers’ chemistry, work ethic, and leadership have created a strong foundation heading into the new season. As their younger players step into bigger roles, Bencoma expects this group to compete hard every night and continue establishing a winning culture.

With veterans like Campbell, Beck, Baker, and Cropp leading the way — and a hungry group of juniors ready to make their mark — the Stroud Tigers are determined to take strides forward in 2025-26.
