Brooke Kyser
Manford High School
On any given day, you’ll find Brooke Kyser right where she’s most comfortable—in the infield, glove on, ready to do whatever the team needs. Whether she’s rotating positions, hustling on the bases, or responding to her coach’s call, Kyser leads with consistency, self-awareness and a willingness to grow.
A junior at Manford High School, Kyser plays both softball and soccer, but her heart belongs to the diamond. As a shortstop and second baseman, she’s been part of the Pirates’ core since her freshman year.
“I’ve played softball basically my whole life,” Kyser said. “The friendships I’ve made and the atmosphere around it just make it fun.”
Kyser’s commitment to the sport extends beyond school.
She’s also played competitive softball for the past four years, traveling across the region and competing in high-level tournaments.
“Competitive ball has a different atmosphere,” she said. “We’ve built strong relationships on that team, and playing girls from all over makes it really special.”
Her success hasn’t come without effort.
After realizing her attitude needed work early in her high school career, Kyser embraced a mindset shift. Encouraged by her new coach, she focused on staying positive and leading by example.
“I try to do whatever my coach asks—hitting, running, fielding,” she said.
“My fielding percentage was really strong last year, and I’ve improved a lot on defense. My hitting is something I’m still working on.”
As she heads into her junior season, college softball is on the horizon, but Kyser is staying grounded.
“I’m definitely looking toward it,” she said. “But right now, I want to enjoy the time I have with my teammates and see where the future leads.”
With her work ethic, leadership and love for the game, Brooke Kyser is poised for an exciting journey ahead—one pitch at a time.
