As he enters his senior year at Bristow High School, Christopher Rolland Jr. is more than just a force on the football field—he’s a living example of perseverance, leadership, and passion for the game. A multi-position standout on the offensive and defensive line, Christopher lines up as a left tackle, center, and defensive end, and has been playing football since third grade.

His journey hasn’t been easy. Injuries have tested him physically and mentally, but rather than let them define him, he’s used them as fuel. “They’ve been my toughest battles and my greatest motivation,” he said. “They’ve shaped who I am.”

Christopher credits players like Lamar Jackson and Jason Kelce as major inspirations. “Lamar plays the game the right way—focused, humble, never doing too much. Kelce’s technique and leadership are second to none. I try to bring those qualities to my own team.”

Off the field, one of the most impactful people in his life was Megan Thames, his former history teacher at Glenpool. “I went through a life-changing situation, and she never once treated me differently. Her first instinct was always, ‘How can I help?’ That kind of support meant everything.”

Being a football player means making sacrifices. “You miss out on a lot. But once you fall in love with the grind, the early mornings, the long practices, it becomes part of you,” he said. That dedication paid off in standout moments, like his freshman-year interception against Fort Gibson, or the opening drive against Plainview in last year’s playoffs—moments that still drive him today.

His favorite win? A battle against Berryhill, where he was pushed all four quarters. “It made me better,” he said. On the practice field, he’s constantly challenged by Grahm Streeter, a teammate who’s been pushing him since day one. And when it comes to underappreciated teammates, Martin Gambil stands out. “He’s consistent, shows up every day, never complains and that matters.”

Christopher plans to run for class president, has applied for leadership council, and brings his energy to every corner of campus. His favorite content creator is Druski, and his go-to hype song is “Creep” by Radiohead. He dreams of playing college football at Ole Miss, but if not, he sees a future in construction, and maybe even a return to basketball.

“Football means everything to me,” Christopher said. “Not everyone gets the chance to put on that jersey. So I treat every game like it could be my last. I’ve never taken that for granted.” Christopher Rowland Jr. is a fierce individual and a pleasure to watch on the field.
