Max Moore is going to be a senior at Mannford High School. He participates in football, basketball, baseball, and is the president of the National Honor Society chapter at his school. Max got his start with football when he was around kindergarten age. His favorite part about football is playing the sport with his friends. Max says “nothing beats seeing your buddies every day and becoming a team.” He was previously selected as his team’s MVP. His favorite sports moments have been his team beating Cleveland every year that he’s been in high school and ready to go for it again in his upcoming senior year.
Sibling rivalry has often been the best training for endurance and work ethic. Trying to one-up a sibling can very well take years of hard work. Max’s biggest positive impacts as well as his role models have been his brothers. Growing up, they had sibling competition between them, pushing him to work harder and toughen up.
For fun, Max likes outdoor activities, working out, and hanging out with friends and family. Max’s favorite subject in school is science because he enjoys learning about all of the different facts about our world and how it works together. His favorite teacher is his Algebra 2 teacher, Mrs. Lovell. “She’s a great teacher and went out of her way to give so many opportunities to improve,” Max says. After high school, he plans to play football at the highest level that he can go with the sport.
Sports have taught Max self confidence and endurance. To be a great athlete, he says that you need to consistently work every day to improve yourself and your skills. When things get tough for Max, his parents, his brothers, and Jesus Christ are by his side to get him through. His advice to his fellow athletes is to believe in yourself and don’t forget to keep your mind right. As Bill Russell says, “concentration and mental toughness are the margins of victory.”
