DRUMRIGHT TORNADOS
Coach: CHRIS ELERICK
8-4
Offense
After a strong 2024 campaign that ended with a quarterfinal playoff appearance, the Drumright Tornadoes enter the 2025 season looking to build on that momentum. Head Coach Chris Elerick acknowledges the presence of some new and unproven faces, but believes this group has the talent and drive to keep Drumright in the postseason picture once again. The Tornadoes will look to develop consistency on offense with a solid returning backfield led by junior quarterback Garett Wright (6-0, 155, Jr.) and senior running back Jagger Willing (5-10, 170, Sr.). Wright gained valuable experience last year, throwing for 475 yards and eight touchdowns while also rushing for 302 yards and six scores. His dual-threat ability and growing confidence make him a key piece to the offense this season. Willing, a hard-nosed senior with a reputation for toughness and reliability, rushed for 730 yards and six touchdowns on 130 carries in 2024. His physical running style and leadership will be counted on to guide a group still developing around him. Willing’s work ethic sets the tone for the entire team, and he’ll likely see an even larger role as a senior. Though some new players will be stepping into key roles at receiver and along the offensive line, Coach Elerick believes the unit has strong potential with the right chemistry and effort.

Defense
Defensively, the Tornadoes will again rely on Willing, who brings energy and experience to the linebacker corps. Last season, he recorded 68 tackles, along with three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. His ability to play downhill and make plays in space gives Drumright a strong presence in the heart of its defense. While the defense will feature several new contributors, the focus will be on discipline, physicality, and swarming to the football. With Willing leading by example and younger players eager to prove themselves, Drumright’s defense will look to grow into a cohesive and aggressive unit as the season progresses. If the new starters can settle in quickly, the Tornadoes have the foundation to remain a playoff contender in 2025.
