Offense
After a strong 2024 season, the Jones Longhorns return with high expectations and a confident group ready to take the next step. Head Coach Kevin Witt is excited about the team’s momentum, leadership, and offseason progress. With key starters returning and a balanced roster full of talent and character, the Longhorns are poised to make a serious run in 2025. Jones will once again be led by standout quarterback Acyn Hansen (5-11, 185, Sr.), who burst onto the scene last season with over 3,000 total yards and 38 touchdowns. A finalist for OSN Player of the Year, Hansen’s dual-threat ability and leadership give the Longhorns a major advantage every time they take the field. His 66 percent completion rate and 2,600 passing yards as a first-year starter showcase his precision and poise. With a fast-paced spread attack, Coach Witt aims to keep defenses on their heels by mixing tempo, balance, and versatility. Hansen will have more weapons to work with this season, including wide receiver Hunter Purvis, who showed flashes of big-play potential last year and is ready for an expanded role in 2025. Sophomore Derek Tempelton (6-2, 175, So.) is another emerging threat who will contribute on both sides of the ball after a strong freshman campaign. Up front, the offensive line will be key to sustaining drives and creating space for Hansen and the backs to operate in what should be one of the most explosive offenses in the area.

Defense
The Longhorns operate out of a disciplined and aggressive 3-4 base defense. Linebacker Luke DeBusk (6-1, 235, Sr.) is the heart of the unit, coming off a 94-tackle season where he consistently made plays from sideline to sideline. Defensive lineman Dorian Wiley (6-2, 230, Sr.) returns as a strong presence up front, bringing not only production but also character and leadership to the locker room. Templeton will also play a key role in the secondary, bringing speed and instincts to the defensive backfield. With a focus on speed, toughness, and sound execution, the Longhorn defense is built to pressure the quarterback, force turnovers, and close out games. Expect the Longhorns to contend again in 2025.
