TONKAWA BUCCANEERS
Coach: TRENTON HARMON
6-5

OFFENSE
The Tonkawa Buccaneers enter the 2025 season as a veteran-laden team, with a strong senior class expected to lead the charge. After finishing 6-5 and falling to Pocola in the first round of the Class A playoffs, head coach Trenton Harmon and his squad are hungry to take the next step and make a deeper postseason run. Tonkawa’s offense will be guided by its senior leadership, especially at wide receiver and along the offensive line. Cayden Duvall, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound senior, returns to his natural position at wide receiver after spending time at quarterback out of necessity. With his size, speed, and football IQ, Duvall is expected to be a top target and a serious matchup problem for opposing defenses. Joining him at receiver is fellow senior Westyn Freeman, another experienced and reliable target who gives the Buccaneers a strong 1-2 punch in the passing game. Their chemistry and playmaking abilities should help open up the field and keep defenses honest. In the trenches, seniors Gavin Ward and Conner Dewitt will anchor the offensive line. Their size, strength, and experience will be key in providing protection and paving the way for the run game. With weapons on the outside and leadership up front, Tonkawa’s offense has the pieces to be dangerous and much improved in 2025.
DEFENSE
On the defensive side of the ball, Tonkawa will lean heavily on a deep and experienced group of linebackers. Senior Lucas Kieth leads the unit with toughness and leadership, while fellow seniors Bear Wano and Kace Tautfest bring physicality and instinct to the second level. Sophomore Carsten Campbell is a name to watch. Despite his youth, he’s earned his place among the veteran group and is expected to be a key contributor early in the season. With a fast, physical group of linebackers and a seasoned senior core, the Buccaneers are well-equipped to compete on both sides of the ball. If the younger players continue to step up, Tonkawa has the potential to be a serious contender in Class A this fall.
