The Lady Buccaneers are looking to grow from last season and have a more successful year. Head coach Kelsey Smith says that with a lot of familiar faces on the court, she is looking for her team to be better this year. “Our team has a lot of players back from last year with more experience and also a solid freshmen class,” she said. “This group of girls are exceptionally hard workers who are looking forward to getting on the court and we are hopeful for a much improved season.” A key player back for the team is Henley Hembree. She has put in a ton of time improving her game. She has a great long range shot and the ability to get to the basket. She is a great kid that is very coachable. Cabrey Boland is a freshman who has the potential to take off this season. She is quick, knows the game, handles the ball well, and can score. Look for her to make a name for herself this season. A freshman who is powerful inside, Jazz Burris is a great rebounder and has an outstanding ability to put the ball back. Addyson Durbin is a work horse in everything she does. She is a leader in practice and always pushes her teammates to be better. Karter James is a senior center who has worked extremely hard this past off-season on the court and in the weight room to improve her game. She makes good decisions off the court and does well in the classroom.
