Yale’s RyLee Reece – Cheer Spotlight – Presented by Central Rural Electric Cooperative

RyLee Reece is in her senior year at Yale High School. She competes in multiple sports for the Bulldogs, including cheer, volleyball, track, and she also serves as a manager for the baseball team. VYPE wanted to take a few minutes to learn a little more about Reece.

VYPE: What does it mean to you to be able to represent your school?

Reece: To me, representing my school means setting a good example for the little kids and underclassmen who look up to me, and portraying myself in a positive way in or out of uniform no matter where I am. I am very thankful that I have the ability to represent the Yale Bulldogs.

VYPE: What has been your favorite moment throughout your high school career so far?

Reece: Being able to represent Yale in other states and even other countries on my NCA All-American cheer trips.

VYPE: Who are some people in your life that have made a big impact on you?

Reece: My friends and family, but Jenna Foutch is the person who inspired me to be involved in so many extracurricular activities. She was always there to help me in any sport or club, and has always been a great friend. I can’t thank her enough.

VYPE: Is there a teacher or teachers that have been influential in your life?

Reece: Mrs. Pummill and Coach Horton have been great teachers and role models in my life. They have always been there for me since the first day I walked into each of their classrooms.

VYPE: What does it take to balance your school work and the activities you are involved in?

Reece: I’ve had to develop good time management skills, and learn how to stay calm and have a positive attitude if I feel overwhelmed.

VYPE: What is your favorite quote or piece of advice that someone has given you?

Reece: This summer I graduated from the 50th Oklahoma Highway Patrol Cadet Lawman Academy and the motto they taught us has really stuck with me. ”To be challenged in life is inevitable, to be defeated is optional…50th academy”.

VYPE: Are you involved in any clubs or organizations?

Reece: I am the President of our Fellowship of Christian Athletes group. I am also in BETA, Yearbook, and the National Technical Honor Society. I am a Cosmetology student at Drumright Central Tech and a four-time NCA All-American cheerleader.
