It is football season in Oklahoma! High school football fans around the state are ready to cheer on their team to victory. VYPE caught up with AJ Landes, Blayz Mcgaha, Hayden LeClair, and Ramsey Romero, this season’s captains of the Ponca City Wildcats’ team to get to know them a little better.
VYPE: What grade are you in and what positions do you play?
Landes: I am a senior and I play wide receiver and cornerback.
Mcgaha: I am a junior this year and I am an offensive lineman.
LeClair: I am a senior and I am a tight end and a defensive lineman.
Romero: I am a senior and I play at defensive end.
VYPE: What is your favorite pregame meal?
Landes: Pasta is always the way to go.
Mcgaha: Subway
LeClair: Chocolate chip pancakes
Romero: Cheeseburgers
VYPE: If you are stranded on an island and can only take three things, what do you take? (Food and water already there)
Landes: I would bring a hammock, a tent, and an ax.
Mcgaha: Lighter, ax ,and fishing rod.
LeClair: A boat and two things off gas to go home.
Romero: A football, a flashlight, and a tent.
VYPE: If you could meet anyone, past or present, who would it be and why?
Landes: Lebron James
Mcgaha: 2016 Baker Mayfield
LeClair: Any WWE superstar
Romero: Von Miller so that I could to talk to him about being successful at defensive end
VYPE: Who has been your favorite teacher and why?
Landes: Coach Tano because he’s the funniest teacher in the high school.
Mcgaha: Mrs. Klein because she is very nice.
LeClair: Ms. Barger
Romero: Coach Tano, he pushes me to be the best, and taught me how to get strong in the weight room
VYPE: Who on the team does the best impression of coach Roland?
Landes: Cortez or Messiah

VYPE: Why do you enjoy playing football?
Landes: It’s different from every other sport and I love playing it.
Mcgaha: It helps me with stress.
LeClair: I get to hit people.
Romero: I like competition
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being a member of the Wildcat program?
Landes: Being a Wildcat is more like being a part of a family than being a high school football team.
Mcgaha: It is one big family.
LeClair: The legacy that you leave.
Romero: Playing for the coaches I have.
VYPE: What has football taught you that makes you a better person?
Landes: All hard things will pass eventually
Mcgaha: To not give up
LeClair: To be mentally tough
