MANNFORD PIRATES

Coach: KENNY GOOCH

1-9

OFFENSE

After a tough 2024 campaign, the Mannford Pirates enter the 2025 season with a renewed sense of optimism and a strong returning core. Head coach Kenny Gooch believes the program is trending in the right direction with a dedicated senior class and valuable experience returning on both sides of the ball. With hard work over the summer and continued development, the Pirates have a real opportunity to turn things around this fall.

The Pirates will be led by senior quarterback Max Moore (6-3, 205, Sr.), a three-year starter and the emotional leader of the team. A dual-threat weapon, Moore is aiming for a breakout senior season with the goal of surpassing 1,500 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards. His combination of size, athleticism, and leadership makes him the centerpiece of the Mannford offense. Joining him in the backfield is a dynamic 1-2 punch. Senior Brayden Rodriguez (5-7, 185, Sr.) is looking to bounce back after an injury-plagued junior year. A 1,000-yard rusher as a sophomore, Rodriguez has the potential to be one of the most impactful players in Class 3A if he stays healthy. Sophomore Luke Naylor (5-7, 165, So.) adds a fresh burst of speed and upside. At just 15, Naylor is already making waves with his physical development and breakaway potential. Up front, the line will be anchored by senior leaders Cooper Boyer (5-10, 230, So.) and Kendal Howard (5-11, 250, Sr.), with tight end Hagen Anderson (6-1, 225, Sr.) providing both blocking and pass-catching support. If the offensive line can gel, the Pirates’ offense has the tools to consistently move the ball and put up points.

DEFENSE

Defensively, Mannford returns a core group that brings toughness and physicality. Moore will play both ways, bringing leadership and power to the linebacker unit alongside Rodriguez, who is expected to shine on both sides of the ball. Donovan Hamons (6-1, 185, Jr.) adds grit at linebacker, while Trey Scott (5-7, 155, Sr.) holds down the secondary with his range and awareness. On the line, Howard and Anderson provide strength and size at the point of attack. With experience and effort on their side, the Pirate defense is determined to take major strides in 2025 and play a more aggressive, disciplined brand of football.
