Kellyville’s Wyatt Briggs – Football Spotlight – Presented by Candyland Childcare Center

For Kellyville senior Wyatt Briggs, football isn’t just a sport, it’s a stepping stone toward a dream of making it a full-time career. Lining up at right outside linebacker and halfback, Briggs has spent his high school years putting in the work, sacrificing free time, and dedicating himself to becoming the best version of himself on the field.

“My parents are my biggest influences,” Briggs said. “They’ve taught me the value of hard work, discipline, and staying humble.” That guidance, paired with countless hours of practice and grueling workouts, has shaped the player and person he’s become.

One teacher who has made a major impact is Jordan Herring. “She helped me throughout school even when I wouldn’t show up,” Briggs said. “She kept me on track to graduate.”

Briggs’ career has been filled with memorable moments, but one stands out above the rest, an away game against Cassidy where he forced three fumbles. “That one felt good,” he said with a grin. And when it comes to rivals, there’s no opponent he enjoys beating more than Mounds. “Those games are always intense, and there’s nothing better than walking off the field knowing we outworked them.”

In practice, Briggs finds his greatest challenge in going up against teammate Jayvius Holmes. “He pushes me to my limits and never lets me take a rep off,” Briggs said. “It makes both of us better.” He’s also quick to give credit to the offensive linemen, calling them the most underappreciated players on the team.

Off the field, Briggs stays focused on school and football. Balancing both takes discipline, good time management, organization, and tackling responsibilities before sports. On social media, he looks to Bryce Crawford for motivation and spiritual guidance.

Representing Kellyville means more to Briggs than just wearing a jersey. “It’s an honor. I’m playing for my teammates, my school, my family, and everyone in the stands.”

As his senior year winds down, Briggs is focused on finishing strong and leaving a lasting example of hard work and leadership for those who will follow. “I’m grateful for my coaches, teammates, and community,” he said. “This is about more than football, it’s about making a difference.”
