Drumright High School senior Evie Ools is a standout student-athlete known for her dedication on and off the field. A key member of both the softball and basketball teams, Evie plays pivotal roles in each sport. On the softball diamond, she shines as both a pitcher and first baseman. When basketball season rolls around, she takes on the role of center, where her strength and determination are on full display.
For Evie, athletics is about more than just winning games, it’s about growth. “Being able to accept failure, celebrate even the smallest victories, and face adversity are key to being successful,” she says. That mindset has helped her navigate the challenges of high school sports while continuing to develop as a leader and teammate.
Evie credits much of her drive to her family and coaches. “My biggest influences are my parents because I see how hard they work and see it pay off,” she shares. Their example of dedication and perseverance fuels her motivation to set goals and push herself to achieve them. Coaches Rob, Fu, and Campo have also played important roles in her journey. “They’re always putting the team first and leading by example.”
Off the court and field, Evie is also making a difference in the classroom. As a teacher’s aide for second graders, she brings the same energy and leadership to helping younger students. Her ability to connect with others, whether they’re teammates or children, shows the depth of her character and the positive impact she makes in her community.
In her free time, Evie finds inspiration from athletes like Samantha Show, a former Oklahoma State softball pitcher. “I love watching her journey,” Evie says, following along on social media as Show continues to motivate young athletes.
With her strong work ethic, team-first mentality, and passion for helping others, Evie Ools is a role model at Drumright High School and a name to remember. As she prepares for graduation, there’s no doubt she’ll continue to chase her goals and achieve them!
