Bethany’s Logan Halberg: OSU Army ROTC Spotlight

Former Bethany High School student now ROTC member at Oklahoma State University, Logan Halberg, is in his second semester as a freshman and his first year in ROTC.

Halberg is majoring in Aerospace Admin and Operations with a concentration in security, a degree that will serve him well as a civilian and as a member of the United States Army. Halberg plans to continue with ROTC and eventually become a member of the National Guard in Oklahoma.

“After college, I will be commissioned into the Oklahoma Army National Guard, and I hope to go into the infantry or aviation branches,” said Halberg.

As a member of the ROTC program, Halberg said he’s enjoyed many of the activities the program has to offer.

“I enjoy the comradery that you get in ROTC the most. Everyone in the program is going through the same challenges and tasks so you must lean on each other and work as a team, whether that means walking someone through a specific task or cheering one another on through a challenge,” Halberg said. “I also play intramural basketball and 7v7 football at OSU, and I am a counselor for Oklahoma American Legion Boys State.”

Before entering college, Halberg said his parents were the biggest influence in his life.

“My parents have been the biggest influence in my life. They have always pushed me to be the best person I can possibly be and support me 100% in any of my endeavors.

But being part of the ROTC program at OSU has taught him a lot in a very short time.

“From my time at ROTC, I have learned not to shy away from challenges but to embrace them and that even failure can promote growth,” said Halberg.

The freshman offers this advice to any student interested in the ROTC program at Oklahoma State University.

“Do it! Don’t be afraid to try new things. ROTC will give you the necessary skills to be a capable leader not only in the military but in every area of life,” said Halberg.
