WELLSTON LADY TIGERS
COACH: Chad Hutchison
Record: 26–4
OUTLOOK
Coming off a stellar 26–4 season that saw a deep run in Area, the Wellston Lady Tigers enter the 2025–2026 campaign with confidence, depth, and championship expectations under head coach Chad Hutchison, now in his fourth year leading the program. “We return a lot of experience off a 26–4 team that made a deep run in Area last season,” said Hutchison. “We should be able to apply pressure on defense and have a deep bench to rotate. We have high expectations for this year.”
Leading the way is Savanah Gaylord (5-8, Jr., G), who averaged 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. Hutchison calls her a dynamic presence on both ends of the court. “Savanah is a dynamic athlete that plays suffocating defense and constantly attacks the rim on offense,” he said. “She has an outstanding work ethic and leadership.”
Joining Gaylord in the backcourt is Dacie Murray (5-7, Jr., G), who Hutchison describes as the heart of the team. “Dacie is one of the hardest workers on the team,” said Hutchison. “She’s unselfish, kind, and always looking to help others.” Her leadership by example helps set the tone for Wellston’s team-first culture.
The Lady Tigers boast a deep rotation of versatile athletes, including Natasha Ballew (5-10, Jr., F), who averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds per game, and Maddie Allen (5-9, So., F), who contributed 5 points and 6 boards per outing. Shilo Davenport (5-6, So., G) adds steady guard play with 3 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists per game, while senior Alexis Fowble (5-6, F) provides veteran toughness and rebounding.
A name to watch is Kamber Goodman (5-8, So., G/F), who Hutchison says could be one of the most complete players in the program. “Kamber is a tremendous, versatile athlete,” said Hutchison. “She might be our most rounded player. She sees the floor well, has a nice touch from three, and is a great finisher around the rim. She’s an excellent perimeter defender with length and speed too.”
Rounding out the roster is freshman Callie Matthews (5-9, G), adding new energy and depth to an already talented lineup.
