OUTLOOK
The Bristow Pirates are determined to turn the corner this season under head coach Brian Hopgood, who enters his second year at the helm with a veteran squad and renewed energy. With seven seniors and four returning starters, Hopgood believes this team has the tools, leadership, and hunger to compete at a high level in 2025-26.
“This year, we have seven seniors, including four returning starters who are poised to drive us toward victory,” said Hopgood. “Their leadership and experience will be key to our success.”
Leading the charge for the Pirates is standout sophomore Brian Hopgood Jr. (6-7, So.), a dominant power forward who averaged 15.0 points per game last season. “Brian stands out as the premier power forward in Oklahoma’s class of 2028,” said Hopgood. “His touch around the paint and ability to hit the three make him a matchup problem for anyone we face.”
In the backcourt, senior Tayton Jackson (5-7, Sr.) returns after posting 14.7 points per game and serving as one of the team’s most reliable offensive weapons. “Tayton is an outstanding scorer and a highly skilled shooter,” Hopgood said. “He’s a competitor who can take over a game with his quickness and ball-handling.”
Junior guard T.J. Wilson (6-2, Jr.) adds another layer of scoring and athleticism after averaging 10.5 points a game.
Inside, senior forward Chris Roland (6-2, Sr.) brings toughness and effort on both ends, contributing 3.2 points per game a year ago, while senior guards Logan McDaniel (5-6, Sr.) and DJ Allen (5-7, Sr.) round out a steady senior core that brings grit and energy every night.
With Hopgood Jr.’s size and skill, Jackson’s scoring punch, and a seasoned team around him, the Pirates have all the ingredients to make a strong push this season.
