OFFENSE
The Tigers enter the 2024 season ready to use what they learned last season and make strides this season. Second year head coach Trent Turner says that with a lot of underclassmen on the roster, he is looking for a lot of improvement from his squad. “We will be extremely young this year with only three seniors on the roster,” he said. “We will look to build on the progress we made last year and keep learning how to compete.” A key player back this season is running back Bo Thomas (5-11, 160, Jr.), who registered 70 carries for 538 yards a year ago. His coaches expect him to have a big year this year. “Bo is electric with the ball in his hands, and he is extremely tough,” Turner stated. Javen Lindsay (6-0, 170, Sr.) is back at wide receiver. He had 305 receiving yards last season, but he should be a key contributor this year on both sides of the ball. The Tigers will lean on Jace Gill (6-3, 235, Sr.) and Jesse Beaird (5-11, 265, Jr.) to be leaders on the offensive line and keep the defense out of the backfield. Kai Jackson (5-11, 155, Sr.) will be at tight end.
DEFENSE
The defense has put in the work in the offseason and is ready to hit the field. They will look to be more aggressive this season and do whatever they can to stop the run. Leading this charge will be a pair of linebackers. Brayden Guthrie (5-11, 170, Jr.) and Chandler Williams (5-10, 165, So.) will have their heads on a swivel to keep the opposing offense in check. In the secondary, Demarcus Coleman (6-0, 155, Jr.) will be at defensive back and is going to work to keep the big plays to a minimum. Tyler Kelsey (6-5, 210, Jr.) will anchor the defensive line and work to wreak havoc on the opponent. Another player to keep an eye on this season will be Dawson Kelsey. He is expected to play a large role on both sides of the ball. Assistant coaches this season are Kelby Edens, Logan Schultz, Seth Wenger, Mark McArthur, and Rocky Lee
