Stillwater’s Maguire Biggs

Stillwater High School freshman Maguire Biggs is enjoying a great year on the field and in FFA. Biggs plays softball for the varsity team at SHS, a sport she started playing when she was in the first grade. Biggs said her teammates are supportive and work hard every day.
“My teammates are supportive on and off the field. Very fortunate to have great athletes to work and get better with but also learn from in and out of the classroom. My team is always competitive, and we always try our hardest,” said Biggs.
FFA has been a big part of her life as well. Having joined in the eighth grade, Biggs said she enjoyed being part of many activities FFA has to offer.

“I’m involved in agriscience, public speaking, judging/career development events and opening ceremonies,” Biggs said. “My teammate and I were state winners in Animal Systems and interview next week as National Finalists. I was fortunate to compete for the first-time last year with wins at jackpots and qualified for Area in 8th Grade Ag Explorations. I was also Reserve World Champion at the Pinto Horse World Championship Show and Top Ten at the American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show. I compete in livestock, horse, and veterinary sciences contests. Our horse judging team was Reserve State Champions last year and our Veterinary Sciences Team was third at the state contest. My team last year was the first from Stillwater to win Regionals and qualify for state.”
Biggs said softball and FFA have taught her things she can carry with her through life.
“It has taught me to be competitive but to also have good sportsmanship. I’ve also learned how to set goals and work with others to achieve them,” said Biggs.
After high school Biggs said she wants to study to become a veterinarian and said her mother is a big inspiration in her life. “My mom because she always pushes me to be my best. She also never lets me give up and keeps me going.”
