Stillwater High School junior Jaelynn Wilhelm is passionate about playing softball for the Stillwater High School Pioneers. Jaelynn plays both centerfield and outfield in softball. Many would consider Jaelynn a softball veteran, having played the sport for 10 years.
Jaelynn is exceptionally proud to represent both her school and community as a student athlete. Jaelynn proclaimed, “Representing Stillwater means a lot because I am not only representing myself, but all of the athletes that have come before me and those who are going to come after me. People know Stillwater, Oklahoma, because of Oklahoma State University, and to be able to say I am from there, and I represent part of the school and community, is truly an honor.”
As far as what motivates her, Jaelynn stated, “Both my family and teammates motivate me when it comes to the game, along with the goals I have set for myself when I was younger.”
In terms of what it has taken Jaelynn to become successful in sports, she stated, “It takes having the right support and surrounding yourself with people who have the same goal. It also takes having the right mindset and continuing to put in the work that nobody else sees.”
Many memories are made as a student athlete. For Jaelynn, one particular memory stands out. Jaelynn recalled, “The highlight of my career so far would be against Enid. The game was tied 0-0 with the go-ahead run on third when the girl up to bat hit a hard shot over me but I had a good first step and was able to catch it mid-jump at full extension.”

Besides playing softball for the Stillwater Pioneers, Jaelynn is involved with extracurricular activities. Jaelynn stated, “I have been part of Beta Club and involved with the Peer Partners program in Stillwater for a couple of years.”
After graduating from high school, Jaelynn plans on continuing academics and softball. Jaelynn stated, “My goal is to further both my academic and athletic career through college. I will most likely major in some sort of pre-med, depending on where I end up.”
