In football, Deakon plays the positions of wide receiver and cornerback. Deakon is a sports veteran, having played football for 8 years, basketball for 8 years, and has run track for 3 years.

Deakon is proud to represent his school and community every time he plays. Deakon proclaimed, “It means everything to be able to do something I love, while also entertaining people. When we win, that feeling is even better.”

As far as what it has taken Deakon to become successful in sports, Deakon stated, “It has taken hard work and dedication. I always am reminded to never stop grinding, and to never quit.”

For Deakon, his biggest influence and role model is a family member. Deakon explained, “My Dad is my biggest influence and role model. He has always pushed me to best I can be, and always pushes me to work even harder.”

Most students have a teacher that has stood out to them during the academic career. Deakon reflected, “Mrs. Glentzer, my 7th grade teacher, is my favorite teacher. I had just moved to a new school, and she helped me feel welcome.”

Many memories are made during one’s high school sports career. There is one particular moment that has been a highlight thus far for Deakon. Deakon reminisced, “My favorite memory in high school sports so far was starting in the 6A State Championship Game as a freshman.”

Winning against a rival team is always an enjoyable moment in sports. For Deakon, the rival team he enjoys winning against is Muskogee. Deakon stated, “Winning against Muskogee is an obvious one. There is never a play you can take off against them.”

In addition to playing football and basketball, and running track, Deakon is a member of the Stillwater High School Chess Club.

After graduating from high school, Deakon plans on attending an NCAA Division 1 School, and playing football for that school. He eventually plans on playing football in the NFL.
