Stillwaters David Thomas – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Larry Gosney- State Farm Agent

David Thomas, a sophomore at Stillwater High School (Class of 2028), is already making waves as a standout athlete. Playing football, basketball, and track, David brings talent, dedication, and leadership to everything he does. On the field, he plays wide receiver; on the court, he commands the floor as a point guard,  and on the track, he anchors both the 4×1 and 4×2 relays, while also excelling in the open 200 and 400 meters.

David’s motivation stems from a deep desire to improve daily, push his limits, and make his family proud. His parents are his biggest role models, instilling in him the values of hard work and discipline. “They’ve always supported me and taught me to never give up,” he says.

For David, success in sports is about more than physical skill. It requires discipline, strong mental focus, and the ability to learn from mistakes. His proudest moment so far was scoring his first varsity touchdown in overtime against Union in the season opener, a game that still fuels his passion. When it comes to rivals, beating Choctaw is high on his list. “That rivalry means everything to both schools,” David explains. “Last year we came up short, but this season we’re ready.”

At practice, he’s pushed daily by teammate Deakon Jones. “We both believe we’re two of the best receivers in the state. Competing with him makes me better every day,” David says. Off the field, he’s a member of the Beta Club and enjoys watching fishing content by Andre Leon on TikTok.

Balancing academics and athletics requires careful time management, something David takes seriously. Representing his school and community is a source of pride. “It’s an honor to wear our colors. I want to make them proud through my effort and sportsmanship.”

Looking ahead, David plans to attend college and play football at the highest level possible. With his devotion and focus, the future looks bright for this young athlete.
