Q&A with Stillwater’s Diego Ortega – Presented by Larry Gosney – State Farm Insurance

VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?

Diego: I am a senior at Stillwater High School where I play soccer.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?

Diego: I look up to Lionel Messi because he is one of the greatest to ever play the sport.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Diego: That would be Graham Condley because he is always willing to put in the extra work when nobody is looking. He is a very good person on and off the field and always brings good vibes anywhere he goes.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?

Diego: My sport has taught me how to be a leader on and off the field as well as discipline, time management, and decision making.

VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?

Diego: I am most proud of my sophomore season because we made the playoffs and had a good record after not having a very good preseason.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Diego: My favorite part about representing my school as an athlete is getting to be known around the whole school and getting to showcase what a great program and culture we have at Stillwater High School.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Diego: My favorite teacher is Ms.Bell from middle school because she was always in a good mood and she made learning in her class fun.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Diego: The best advice anyone has given me is ‘Always put God first, and do good things even when no one is looking’.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Diego: I would choose to go to Barcelona, Spain because my favorite soccer team is FC Barcelona and I would like to experience being out of the country and learning different cultures. I would take my close friends with me.
