VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?
Whelan: I am a senior at Perry High School and I play football and baseball.
VYPE: What has your sports taught you that makes you a better person?
Whelan: Sports have taught me a work ethic that I will carry throughout life as well as the power of a team and camaraderie.
VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?
Whelan: For football it would be the hard work I’ve put in to get a chance to play at the next level. Baseball would be when we made the state finals last year.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Whelan: It would be hard to choose a singular guy but if I had to, Cash Waren has been on the field with me since we were kids and has been with me every step of the way.
VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?
Whelan: I am a Cowboys fan so I would have to say Ceedee Lamb or Micah Parsons. Two dominant guys for my favorite team who make Sundays enjoyable to watch.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Whelan: My favorite teacher would be Mrs. Nelson, our counselor because of how much she helps with the college process.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Whelan: My parents always give me advice on being the best person I can be. My dad always talks about getting better everyday.
VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?
Whelan: Just about anything my mom cooks. Either that or some Buffalo Wild Wings.
VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
Whelan: I could go on and on thanking people but first has to be God. As well as my family, friends, coaches, especially Coach Ducker and Cole.
