Perry High School senior Brooklenn Moses is a multisport athlete, playing softball, basketball, and participating in track for the Perry High School Lady Maroons. In softball Brooklenn plays 3rd base, in basketball Brooklenn is mostly a post, and in track Brooklenn throws discus. Brooklenn has played softball 4 years, basketball 3 years, and participated in track for 2 years.
Brooklenn is proud to represent both her school and her community as a student athlete. Brooklenn proclaimed, “Whenever I play, I make sure that I go all out. I want to make sure the Perry is remembered for all of its hard workers and motivated athletes.”
In regards to what motivates her, Brooklenn stated, “My teammates and my coaches motivate me the most.”
As far as her biggest role models, Brooklenn looks towards family as the source. Brooklenn accounted, “My biggest role models would be my parents. They always encourage me to have a good attitude through any situation, which really helps me become level headed on and off the field.”
In terms of what it has taken Brooklenn to become successful in sports, Brooklenn stated, “In order for me to become successful, not only did I need to know every aspect of the game, but I also learned that having a strong and encouraging mindset can really help not only keeping myself motivated, but also my teammates.”
Many memories are made in high school sports during a student athlete’s career. For Brooklenn, one particular moment stands out. Brooklenn recalled, “My highlight moment happened in 2023 when the Perry Lady Maroons softball team had won state.”
When it comes to sports, Brooklenn had the following to say, “Being an athlete does not just come with physical ability and talent. It comes with hard work, a good mindset and a humble attitude.”
After graduating from Perry High School, Brooklenn plans on pursuing higher education. She stated, “I plan to attend Southwestern Christian University to continue my athletic and academic career, and obtain a degree in Exercise Science, after that, I plan on continuing my academic journey and to become an Athletic Trainer.”
