Throughout an athlete’s career, there are moments that they look back on that are important to them. These could be important victories with their teammates or personal milestones that they are proud of. As a basketball player for Perkins-Tryon High School, Krisalyn Fields has a memory that she appreciates the most.
“I think the highlight moment of my career so far was hitting six three-pointers in one game,” she said. “That is a night I will never forget.”
Fields is a senior at Perkins-Tryon. Outside of sports, she is also involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the National Honor Society.
Becoming the basketball player that she is today is not something that just happened overnight. Instead Krisalyn has invested a lot of effort getting to where she is.
“It has taken a lot of time and practice to be successful in basketball,” she said. “My teammates and I have had to lose a lot before we could put the pieces together and win. My teammates and coaches are what motivate me.”
The team that she is a part of is a group that Krisalyn is thankful for. Not just because they are teammates but also because they help each other improve.
“I think the teammate I enjoy working against the most in practice is Kyndall Marshall,” Fields said. “She pushes me to work hard and doesn’t slack off against me. I think the least appreciated player on my team would be Brynn Stone because she does a lot for our team and it isn’t always recognized.”
And when it comes to opponents, there is one team in particular that Krisalyn enjoys going up against and getting the win.
“The opponent that I like beating the most would be Cushing,” she said. “That is because they are our rivals.”
Krisalyn also works hard in the classroom and she has had some great teachers. But she has one that stands out as her favorite.
“The teacher that has had the biggest impact on my life is Mr. Roberts,” she said. “He has been one of my favorite teachers throughout high school and gives good advice.”
