Morrison’s Jabree Sheronick – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Stillwater Women’s Clinic

Morrison High School’s Jabree Sheronick is already making a name for herself as a three-sport athlete. Competing in basketball, softball, and track, she shines the brightest on the softball diamond, where she plays left field and third base. For Jabree, the motivation is simple, yet powerful, making her parents proud. “Having my mom and dad see me succeed keeps me going,” she said.

Role models play a big part in her journey. She looks up to Jocelyn Alo, one of the greatest power hitters in college softball history. “She shows me that no matter what you do, you can succeed in life,” Jabree said. Her biggest academic influence has been Mrs. Brown, a teacher who goes above and beyond for her students. “She treats me like one of her own kids and is always there for me when I need someone to talk to.”

Becoming successful in sports hasn’t come easy. Jabree credits hard work and gratitude for shaping her mindset. “You can’t just expect your spot, you have to earn it and be grateful for what you’re given.” That drive and work ethic paid off during one of her favorite career moments: hitting her first home run. The memory is especially sweet because it brought her hitting coach to tears.

When it comes to rivals, Jabree admits beating Frontier and Pawnee feels the best. “They’ve been Morrison’s rivals for a long time,” she explained. On her own team, she enjoys working with Blakely, a teammate who pushes her to get better each day. Unlike many athletes, Jabree doesn’t believe anyone on her team goes unnoticed. “We are all super appreciative of each other.”

Away from the field, she studies hard, sometimes even on the way to games, and stays motivated with reminders from her friends. Representing Morrison means everything to her. “I’m truly grateful for the experience. I hope to win the state championship for them before I leave high school.”

Her hype song is “Solo” by Future, and her dream is to one day play at OU, following in the footsteps of her idol Jocelyn Alo. If not for softball, Jabree says she’d be playing volleyball. With grit, gratitude, and an eye on the future, Jabree Sheronick is making Morrison proud one game at a time.
