Morrison’s Ethan Schoepflin – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance – Derek Rasmussen

Success is something that almost everyone strives for. While we all may take different paths, we want to do our best at what we are doing. For Ethan Schoepflin, baseball is his passion and he does whatever it takes to be his best when he steps on the field.
“It takes a lot of hard work to be successful,” he said. “Things like staying later than everyone else after practice, working on the weekends and in my free time, and a lot of dedication. I really like baseball so I worked and worked at it to make sure I was the best at whatever I did.”

Ethan is a senior at Morrison High School, where he is a pitcher, third baseman, and outfield for the baseball team.

There have been those in Ethan’s corner that have supported him and helped grow as a person.

“My mom and dad are my biggest role models,” he said. “They have always pushed me and made me the person I am today. My favorite teacher would have to be my computer teacher, Ms. Gallacher. She always gives me extra time to do my work. I’m thankful to have a support system that has taught me how to be successful in managing school work with baseball.”

Throughout his career, Schoepflin has made a lot of memories on and off the field with his teammates. But out of all of those, there is one that stands out as his favorite.

“I think my highlight moment would be my walk off home run against Crescent last year,” he said. “It was a good feeling knowing that I played a part in our win.”

The teammates that he is surrounded by on the field and at practice are a group that Ethan is proud to be a part of. He says that the team does a great job of helping each other get better.

“I like to challenge all of my teammates and then in return, they challenge me,” he said. “I think one of the more underrated players on our team is Koltin Smith, he puts in a lot of work and doesn’t get a lot of credit for it.”
