A three-sport student-athlete at Morrison High School, Brady Petree has entered his junior year with a full plate and a passion for representing his school in competition. That passion also extends to his involvement in FFA.
“I first got involved in the FFA when it was offered in the eighth grade,” said Petree. “I got involved because my older brother had always been an FFA member.”
Despite not showing livestock, Petree said his involvement in FFA has been rewarding and the people and friends he has made, makes the effort worth it.
“What I enjoy most about the FFA program are all the people you get to meet and friends you make at events,” said Petree.
The junior said anyone interested in FFA should give it a try and be open to new things.
“You should definitely try it out and get involved in activities to see what you like,” said Petree.
As a member of the football, baseball, and wrestling teams, Petree knows the meaning of hard work. It’s something FFA has taught him as well. Petree started playing football in elementary school.
“I started playing in the 5th grade. What I love most about football is definitely the adrenaline you get on a Friday night right before you take the field. To me, that feeling is unmatched,” said Petree. “What I love most about my teammates is the bond that we have. My guys and I are more like a family than teammates.”
Petree said he finds inspiration in his father who encourages him to be the best he can be on and off the field. As for his future, Petree plans to attend college and become a pilot.
“After high school I plan to either go to college or to a flight school and become a commercial pilot.”
