Logan Vyrostek is a student athlete at Glencoe High School, playing basketball and baseball. He says that wearing the Panther uniform is something that he is proud to be able to do and does not take it lightly.
“It means everything for me to be able to represent my school,” he said. “I’ve lived here since I was little so everyone is like a family to me.”
A senior, Logan is a point guard on the hardwood, while on the baseball diamond, he is a pitcher and first baseman. He knows that it takes a lot to be ready to compete.
“In order to be successful, it takes hard work and dedication,” he said. “My biggest motivation is to be better for myself.”
Throughout his life, Logan has had people that have influenced him and helped him get to where he is today, both as an athlete and as a person.
“My role model would have to be my cousin, Ty Lazenby,” Vyrostek said. “I grew up watching him when I was younger and I idolized him. Clark Pepper III is a teammate that I like to practice against because he pushes me to be a better teammate. One of our underrated players is Brennan Tillman. He can play defense and shoot but we don’t give him enough credit.”
There are numerous teams that Logan and his teammates go up against throughout the season. But he has one team that he always enjoys getting the win against.
“Frontier would have to be my favorite opponent to beat,” Vyrostek said. “They are good and it is always a competitive game.”
Logan has made a lot of memories throughout his career, but as he looks back, he has one that stands out as his favorite.
“I think my highlight would have to be scoring 1,500 points in basketball,” he said. “That is an accomplishment that I am really proud of.”
