For Glencoe freshman Jaylee Voight, a passion for agriculture has been part of her life for as long as she can remember. Long before stepping into high school, Voight was already building a foundation rooted in hard work and responsibility, beginning with showing pigs at just four years old. That early introduction helped shape not only her skillset, but also her connection to FFA, an organization that now plays a central role in her high school experience.
Coming from a family deeply involved in agriculture and FFA, Voight was surrounded by examples of leadership and dedication. Whether as advisors or members, her family’s influence helped guide her toward joining the organization, where she has quickly become an active participant. She competes in Opening and Closing Ceremonies, takes part in livestock judging, continues showing pigs, and attends leadership events that build both confidence and character.
One of her favorite memories so far came at Alumni Leadership Camp, where she had the opportunity to connect with other students while developing skills that extend beyond the classroom. Another standout moment was attending the National FFA Convention, an experience that gave her a broader view of the organization and reinforced her commitment to it.
Voight’s drive in FFA mirrors her approach to athletics. A three-sport athlete competing in softball, basketball, and track and field, she understands the level of effort required to succeed across multiple areas. Whether it is hitting a walk-off double to defeat a rival in softball or helping her basketball team secure a conference tournament title, she brings the same determination and focus that she applies in the show ring and competition settings.
Her motivation comes from a strong support system. Her parents have instilled a work ethic that carries into everything she does, while her coaches and teammates continue to push her to improve. She also credits Coach Voth as a key influence, recognizing the impact of being challenged early in her athletic career.
For Voight, representing Glencoe means more than personal success. It is about contributing to something larger, making her school and community proud, and continuing a tradition of excellence through both athletics and FFA.
