VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?
Ben: I am a senior at Yale High School. I play football, basketball, and baseball.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Ben: Walker Whitsett has left the biggest impression on me to always do my job, always be humble, and to not be selfish. He did his job on the defensive line keeping me unblocked as the linebacker so I could make the tackles, he was a big factor for me leading the state in tackles my sophomore year.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
Ben: My favorite part about representing Yale high school is being able to represent not only my teammates but my classmates, the school, and the community of Yale.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Ben: Mrs. Tucker from my eighth-grade year at Jennings. She always pushed me to be the best I could be, not only in the classroom but in life.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
Ben: Jesus inspires me. I try my best every day to live my life just like he did, his examples of humility and strength push me to grow in my everyday life.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Ben: The best advice I’ve been given is to trust Gods plan, even when I don’t understand it.
VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
Ben: I want to give a shout-out to our coaches and our Yale community. Our coaches care so much for our teams that they don’t have to be out on the field, court, or diamond, but they choose to be. I also want to say thank you to our community for always filling the stands and being so supportive.
VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?
Ben: My favorite all-time meal would be a Bigfoot Burger, no veggies, with fries and a side of ranch from Joseph’s in Drumright.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Ben: I would go to Montana. I would want to stay in a big cabin with my family and a few friends. I would like to visit where they filmed Yellowstone and go fishing there, and a whole bunch of other stuff involving the outdoors.
