Tonkawa ‘s Audrina Palmer – Presented by Phillips 66

Athletes invest a lot of time and effort so that they can be at their best when competition time comes. And when that work pays off, it is always a great feeling. Audrina Palmer knows what it is like to see work payoff.

“I think the highlight moment of my career was in the 14U USSSA Nationals in Branson, Missouri with my travel team, Omega,” she recalled. “We had a tough season but at Nationals everything came together. We ended up placing second out of 35 teams. That team and all of those girls will forever hold a special place in my heart.”

Palmer is a sophomore at Tonkawa High School, where she plays softball and basketball. Outside of sports, she is also involved in the Future Farmers of America program.

Throughout her career, Palmer has played against a lot of different teams. But she says that there are a couple of teams that she enjoys getting the win against the most.

“I love winning so every game really means a lot to me, but my favorite games to win are definitely against Blackwell and Frontier,” she said. “We have been rivals for a very long time and it just feels good to have a win against them, especially with me knowing lots of the girls and knowing how hard those individuals work also.”

There have been a number of people that have had an influence on Audrina’s life and helped shape her into the person she is today.

“My biggest influences and role models are definitely my mom and dad,” she said. “They push me to my limits and always tell me to strive for perfection. Seeing how they are doing in life and how successful they are only pushes me more to go for my goals in life. A teacher that has had the biggest impact in my life was my third grade teacher, Mrs Shepherd. She always made sure that my peers and I were taken care of and pushed us out of our comfort zones to be the best students we could be.”

When she is not competing or working on her game, Palmer has a few people that she likes to follow and keep up with on social media.

“I think my favorite person I follow on social media would be Kinzie Hansen,” she said. “She was the catcher for OU and was the definition of going hard for your team. I enjoyed watching her constantly and everything she promotes is always positive.”
