TONKAWA BUCCANEERS

Coach: TRENTON NEAL

2024-25 Record: 13-15

The Tonkawa Buccaneers are ready to get back on the court and show the progress they have made in the offseason. They have a mix of experience, depth, and optimism under fourth-year head coach Trenton Neal. After finishing 13–15 last year, the Buccaneers return four of five starters and six players who have started multiple high school games, giving the team a veteran core that should allow for better comfort and cohesion on the court. Additionally, two role players are returning from significant injuries, adding depth and versatility. With a challenging schedule ahead, Tonkawa hopes to be battle-tested and ready when playoff time arrives.

Senior Westyn Freeman (5-9, Sr.) returns as a versatile guard, averaging 9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game last season. Freeman’s defensive intensity and leadership in the backcourt provide stability for the Buccaneers, while his ability to score and create for teammates makes him a key contributor. Fellow senior Eli Pappan (5-9, Sr.) adds scoring and perimeter depth, while Brody Reed (6-2, Sr.) provides a reliable forward presence on both ends of the floor.

Junior Kade Ditmore (6-3, Jr.) is the focal point of Tonkawa’s offense and defense. Leading the team in points, rebounds, and blocks last year, Ditmore has worked relentlessly in the weight room and improved his perimeter shooting to help stretch the floor. A three-sport athlete and member of the school’s 225 Club, Ditmore’s motor, toughness, and versatility make him one of the area’s most dynamic players. His ability to score inside and outside, combined with his defensive prowess, will be pivotal for the Buccaneers’ success.

Junior Cason Johnson (5-8, Jr.) provides leadership, accountability, and intensity. A three-sport athlete and student leader, Johnson does everything right in practice and holds teammates to high standards. He averages 9 points, 2 assists, and 2.5 steals per game, contributing both on offense and defense.

Sophomore Kayson Thompson (5-9, So.) returns from a football injury and is expected to make a major impact. A pass-first guard with excellent on-ball defense, Thompson’s energy, court vision, and leadership will help Tonkawa control the pace of games and improve overall team performance.Other members of the team that will look to contribute are Loudyn Alexander (6-0, Jr.), Kace Tautfest (6-0, Jr.), Makiah Kinnard (6-1, Jr.), Maddox Martin (6-2, Sr.), Martin Blueback (6-1, Jr.), Jordan Smith (5-6, So.), Junior Camp (6-1, Fr.), Isaac Blueback (5-8, Fr.), Nehemiah Townsley (5-11, Fr.), and Landon Brown (5-9, Fr.)
