VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?
Natalia: I am a sophomore at Ponca City High School. I play basketball for the school and I also play travel softball.
VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?
Natalia: I am most proud of starting varsity basketball as a freshman.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?
Natalia: My sport has taught me leadership and accountability.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Natalia: I think Jenna Northcutt has left the biggest impression on me because of her work ethic in and out of the gym. At practice she is constantly pushing me to be the first and what I do, and she’s an amazing human on and off the court.
VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?
Natalia: I look up to Aja Wilson the most because she’s a really good player with numerous accomplishments including WNBA MVP, WNBA championships, Olympic gold medals, and is also a New York Times best-selling author. Her accomplishments inspire me to strive for excellence and to chase my dreams.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
Natalia: My parents are who inspires me most. They inspire me most because they’ve made me strive to try and become a better person each and every day. They’ve also shown me that no matter how many times I fail at something they will always have my back and be there to support me.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Natalia: my favorite teacher will probably have to be Mrs. Weese from eighth grade. She was my Gifted and Talented teacher as well as my science teacher. I liked that class most because of all the activities we did and experiments we did. I also liked the community she helped us build with our peers.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Natalia: The best advice someone has ever given me would be either God wouldn’t put a Goliath in front of you if he didn’t see a David inside of you. Another would be no one can forgive you until you forgive yourself.
VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?
Natalia: my all time favorite meal would probably have to be a three finger combo from Canes or a loaded baked potato from Rib Crib.
