Ponca City High School senior Zaydn Stoll is a multisport athlete playing both football and basketball, as well as running track for the Ponca City High School Wildcats. Zayden has played football for 1 year, basketball since he was about 7 to 10 years of age, and this will be his 2nd year in track.
Zaydan is proud to represent both his school and his community as a student athlete. Zaydan proclaimed, “To me, to represent my school and community, means it is an opportunity to be respectful at all costs, as well as to act sportsmanlike.”
Faith plays an important part in Zaydan’s life. He looks to the Bible verse Philippians 4:13 as inspiration. Zaydan went on to state, “Jesus Christ is my biggest influencer and second is my parents. Because if it was not for Jesus giving his life to save all of us, I would not be able to play the sports that I love; I play in his name. I am thankful for my parents, as they have supported me throughout my entire athletic career, and they deserve nothing less than the best effort from me.”
As far as someone from school that has stood out to him, Zadyn looks towards a coach. Zaydn stated, “My coach, Jacob Birnbaum, has had the biggest impact on my life because he has been able to teach me so many life lessons throughout these four years. I would have not been able to play basketball without him.”
In regards to what it has taken for Zaydn to be successful in sports, Zaydn stated, “It has taken lot of hard work and willpower, to keep going even through the hard times, and being able to keep going even when everyone else is doubting you.”
Besides being a student athlete, Zaydn is enrolled in the Firefighting and EMT class at the vo-tech school in Ponca City.
Zaydan has plans after graduating from Ponca City High School. Zaydan stated, “My plans are to become a firefighter, and to become closer to God.”
