Ponca City High School senior Hayden LeClair is a multisport student athlete, playing both football and baseball for the Ponca City High School Wildcats. In football, Hayden plays the position of nose guard, and in baseball, Hayden plays the position of left field.
Hayden is proud to represent both high school and his community. Hayden proclaimed, “To represent Ponca City as a school and community is a really big thing for me. I grew up here, and want to make a name for it.”
In regards to what motivates him, Hayden stated, “What motivates me are my two brothers that passed away.”
For Hayden’s biggest influence or role model, Hayden looks towards family as the source. Hayden stated, “My biggest influence is my sister, because she shows me how much putting in hard work will do for you.”
As far as what it has taken for Hayden to be successful in sports, Hayden accounted, “I have always kept my head up.”
Many students have a teacher that have stood out to them for going the extra mile. Hayden stated, “My favorite teacher is Ms. Barger. She showed me respect growing up, and would come and support me in my baseball games.”
Priceless memories are made during a student athlete’s career. For Hayden, his favorite memory occurred recently. Hayden recalled, “My favorite memory thus far, was when we beat Tulsa’s Union High School, last year.”
In addition to being a student athlete at Ponca City High School, Hayden holds the title of being the senior class president, as well as being the vice president of the student athlete advisory club.
After graduating from Ponca City High School, Hayden plans on pursuing higher education. Hayden stated, “After graduating from high school, I plan on attending the University of Nebraska and to go into Sports Broadcasting.”
