For Ponca City mom Atalie Price, raising a family means building a life around faith, passion, and togetherness, and she’s found the perfect rhythm to do just that.
Atalie and her husband Ryan have been married for nearly 18 years and are the proud parents of three talented daughters. Paetyn, a ninth grader, is a passionate cross country and track runner for Ponca City High School and a gifted violinist in both the school orchestra and her church worship band. Andie, in sixth grade, is also a runner and budding multi-instrumentalist, preparing to add trumpet to her musical skillset. The youngest, Pearl, is a first grader who’s already running and throwing mini-javelin, while also diving into art, music, and pretend play with infectious joy.
A stay-at-home mom, Atalie pours her heart into supporting her girls in every way possible. She and Ryan coach their daughters’ running and are actively involved in youth ministry at Rise Up Church in Newkirk. Their love of running extends beyond the school season; the family trains together year-round and often turns national track meets into family vacations.
“Running is a unique sport because the whole family can be involved,” Atalie says. “It gets us outside and keeps us connected, with nature, with each other, and with God.” Her love for the sport began in her own childhood, and now she’s passing that legacy on to her daughters, with joyful daily runs and a deep appreciation for every rainbow, storm, and sunrise along the way.
As her oldest daughter Paetyn begins high school, Atalie recognizes that the biggest challenge is helping her balance school, athletics, music, and rest. But she turns to her faith as a guide: “God gives us grace for one day at a time, just do your best and don’t stress.” A favorite family verse, Galatians 6:9, reminds them to stay the course with endurance and heart.
A proud member of the Ponca City Cross Country Booster Club and an advocate for the school’s music and athletic programs, Atalie is grateful for the opportunities her children have in Ponca City. “We’ve been so blessed,” she says. “This is a wonderful place to raise a family.”
