When it comes to team sports, it takes dedication, hard work, and discipline from every person on the team, each person has to do their part and push on another to win. Jolee Dice says her favorite teammate to work with is Nora Glass, “I’ve played with her since T-Ball” she said. Jolee Dice is a freshman at Blackwell High School, she plays softball, basketball, and is on the cheer team. Competing in all three of those sports takes a lot of time, effort, and motivation. What motivates Jolee is the opportunity she has been given by God, “I strive to be the best person and player I can be” She stated. “And I thank God every day for what I have.” It takes more than just your own motivation to be a three-sport athlete, it also takes people around you are influencing you to keep going. Jolee says her biggest influences are her sisters. “My biggest influences are my sisters because they are my biggest supporters.” While being great in her athletics, Jolee does much more off the field, as she is involved in pep club, student council, and her local church’s youth group. While only in her freshman year, Jolee already knows what it takes to be great in her sports saying, “it takes hard work, dedication, and commitment.” The work she has put in has led to her career starting off very strong. When asked what her favorite moment of her career is, she responded saying “I feel honored to be starting at first my freshman year, it just shows that mu hard work and dedication is paying off.” As a freshman starting on a varsity team, it takes a lot of time to figure out how you want to represent the school you are playing for, but already, Jolee Dice has figured out how she wants to represent the school. “When I play I want to represent my school and community by holding myself to a higher standard and maintaining good sportsmanship, and I am so proud to be a Blackwell Lady Maroon.”
