Reese Lambert has chosen a focused path for her senior year at Blackwell High School, dedicating herself fully to basketball and the growth that comes with it. A 12th grader who plays primarily at power forward and occasionally at center, Lambert embraces the physical and mental demands of the game while keeping her perspective rooted in something larger than statistics or personal recognition.
Her motivation comes from the opportunity to grow, compete, and contribute to a team environment built on trust and effort. That mindset has been shaped largely by her parents, who continue to push her to give her best while also reminding her of her capabilities when self-doubt creeps in. Their steady encouragement has helped Lambert develop resilience and confidence, especially during challenging moments.
One of the most influential figures in her academic and personal journey was Mrs. Holt, a seventh-grade teacher whose support left a lasting impression. Lambert credits her encouragement with helping her grow not only as a student but also as a person, reinforcing the importance of believing in yourself even when the road feels difficult.
Success on the court, Lambert believes, is earned through consistent effort. She takes pride in putting in the work during team practices and on her own time, always striving to give 100 percent and fill whatever role her team needs. That approach paid off early this season in a memorable moment against Perry, when she knocked down the first three-pointer of her varsity career, an exciting milestone in the opening game of the year.
Rivalry games add an extra spark, and for Lambert, beating Tonkawa always brings a surge of energy. In practice, she values competing against teammates like Jaeden Munroe, whose strength and versatility challenge her to improve defensively, rebound with purpose, and expand her offensive skill set.
Beyond basketball, Lambert stays involved through Student Council, Pep Club, and her role as a football manager, balancing academics by completing schoolwork first so she can fully enjoy her activities. Representing Blackwell means more than wearing a jersey, it’s about honoring God, family, school, and community through effort, sportsmanship, and respect.
