VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?
Brooklyn: I am a senior at Ripley High School and I play softball and basketball and run track.
VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?
Brooklyn:My most proud moment and accomplishment is when I received my full ride offer to play college basketball for Henderson State University.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Brooklyn:The teammate that has left the biggest impression on my life is Jaslene Howell. She is one of my best friends and competitors. She is a great example of a harder worker and a level headed player. Playing against her is always fun and a challenge.
VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?
Brooklyn:First I look up to Caitlin Clark for the way she overcomes adversity and thrives with challenges. And second I look up to my aunt and uncle Trisha Skibbe (Graham) and Joey Graham for teaching me the majority of what I know about basketball.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Brooklyn:One of many favorite teacher was my 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Ramsey. She made coming to school and learning so much fun. As well as making every student in her class feel loved and special. She still continues to support me in everything I do.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Brooklyn:Well in the words of my father that I have been told my whole life is “Don’t Suck”. But on a more serious note my favorite advice that I have been given is “ Watch your thoughts, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.
VYPE: Are you involved in any other activities?
Brooklyn:Along with playing basketball I play softball and do track. I also attend central tech working towards my phlebotomy license in Advanced health careers. But besides sports and school I love to spend time with my family and friends. I am also an avid reader.
VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?
Brooklyn:My all-time favorite meal is my mom’s homemade fried chicken with mashed potatoes, Sister Schubert rolls, green beans, chocolate sheet cake, and an ice cold Dr.Pepper.
